During the summer of 2001, several people who were going through treatment for cancer got to know each other and found that their friendship and mutual support was invaluable. The idea formed that if a support group could be set up locally, many people could benefit from the unique experience of friendships with others going through the same experience of battling cancer. Together with help from one of the Macmillan Specialist Nurses and a Family Support Worker, plans were formulated and Ipswich Cancer Aid Network was born!!
Our first meeting was on 1st October 2001, we became a registered charity 3 years later and have been able to help and support hundreds of people over the years since then.
